Parks & Recreation

The City of Caro Parks and Recreation Department offers and is involved with a variety of programs, special events, and recreational facilities that are designed to improve the quality of life for residents of all ages. The 2017-2022 Caro Parks and Recreation Five Year Plan has been established to ensure that existing and planned parks & recreation facilities and programming meet the needs of our community. Striving to maintain and implement the recreation standards of our community is the Caro Parks & Recreation Committee and the parks and recreation staff.

Music in the Park

Caro Parks & Recreation looks forward to bringing you enriching activities this summer. Join us at Atwood Park, for this Summer’s Music in the Park Program starting on June 4th. Enjoy the talents of musical performers at Atwood Park, located on M-81 next to Rite Aid. Thursday evenings June through August, 6:30-8:30p.m.

Master Plan


This plan will be used as a guide for making decisions regarding improvement of parks and recreation opportunities and experiences in the Caro area, including decisions about capital improvements and programming directions. The plan will also be used to maintain eligibility to apply for funding through grants administered by the State of Michigan Department of Natural Resources.

The Caro area plays host to several activities throughout the year. The Tuscola County Fairgrounds are located in Caro and host the Tuscola County Fair as well as many other festivities!
